State of the Blog 2011 Address

I'm feeling like I'm ready for that special time of year when I try to get this blog off the ground again. I love doing my personal music chart, but it becomes something of a burden when I get busy with work during the school year (in case you're wondering, I'm a teacher).

My friends and I have been discussing the possibility of starting up a podcast. We've been day-dreaming about that for months now, but if we do get it rolling, I will probably use this blog as the broadcasting home.

I had to take down the posts with the old ROH on HDNet TV show as the ROHBrazil youtube channel got shut down. Sadly, that cut out a lot of my content. I will need to create more original material.

I am growing weary of my supplemental retail job. If I could find a way to make money doing something I enjoy on the internet I would be overjoyed.

R.I.P. Lance Cade

Today I am saddened to hear about the death of Lance McNaught, better known to us as Lance/Garrison Cade. McNaught had a history of drug problems, namely painkillers and sleeping pills, which contributed to his being released from World Wrestling Entertainment. It troubles me to see a young man like McNaught, who was only 29, passing away due to drug issues. It was bad enough seeing this happen to the wrestling stars who came up in the 80's and 90's, but I had hoped that the generation of the 00's would avoid such a fate. Instead, we've lost Umaga and now Lance Cade. It also troubles me that WWE's Wellness Policy seems designed more so to protect WWE's public image by making sure wrestlers aren't dropping dead under their employment, but doesn't seem to go very far into actually addressing the problem itself.

July Updates

I'm going to be in Washington for the next week and then in Maine for a week and a half. Therefore, I won't have consistent access to the internet, so there won't be any updates for another stretch. I'm aware that this blog doesn't have many readers, but I didn't want anyone to think that it was abandoned.
